You think protests started with the Trump administration? My god, you really haven't been paying attention. Protesting police violence has been going on for years. We've been doing it longer than I've been alive! It's only recently that it's gained enough traction to actually show up in the wider political debate.
Also regarding Trump, he lost the popular vote and now the Senate Republicans have admitted, "Yes, he did collude with Russia to influence the election, we just don't give a shit." So when you effectively get told that your vote doesn't matter, oligarchs both foreign and domestic decide the elections, being morally outraged is a very reasonable response.
You've already made clear that you don't agree with me on that, but you've also given the distinct impression that you just fall in line with and obey whatever jackboot is standing on your neck that week. The US got a lower score because we have had multiple elections where the majority of the people voted for one person and the electoral college elected their opponent. It isn't a democracy when the winner of the popular vote isn't elected. The source was at the bottom of the image, it was the economist. I just grabbed the image from google. Just search " most Democratic countries" And you will find plenty of other charts too telling us all the same thing.

Definitely. They have already been preparing for when most work is done by automation and understand that there are already not enough jobs available for the workforce. So they have been trying to help shift their population to adapting so that they will have a smooth transition. Unlike the US where the wealthy are trying to do a "Smash and Grab everything you can" while lying to the people and force a collapse of the middle class to their benefit so that the wealthy will be the only one's to survive and no one else will. People ignoring that this is happening only helps them do more damage while they do it.
