Maybe it's the fact that the PS3 cell emulation on anything at the moment is hardly working. Nothing big is running through the Cell crack from a few years ago. Saying Sony could do a system with a cell processor for backwards compatibility is silly.
It depends on the area. I still have a Suncoast where I live and it operates pretty well. Blu-Ray Vs. DVD is a different beast in its own right. I can only speak on my own buying habits.
There not all hot when I switch to use one. Problems arise when you deal with end of cycle Sega CD based systems. Everything works fine.
It's not really a problem with the speed and more with the PS4 servers capping the download for patches and game downloading. I've also hit my monthly cap...
I have everything connected to what is amounts to a switch system. So turning on a certain console is tons easier and less hassle. It also helps mitigate a fire risk. That and I go to swamp meets to trade game with fellow collectors. I live in a rural area that is lucky to get even a 4mb...
I can play Sonic 1 on the original Sega Genesis or mostly any system I have hooked up to my entertainment system. I own quite a few consoles in my entertainment center. I collect physical to play and having original everything is a must. What I do is maybe not feasible to some people. I'm a...
No excuse I said PC gaming retro collecting for physical is dead. Nothing I said invalidates that. Retro is different on consoles than on PC. Sure you can download tons of classic games and that just defeats the fun of retro game hunting. Some PC games from the 1990's had extravagant editions...
Point was people will always want some kind of physical copy of something. Quite a few indie games are getting physical release now. Shovel Knight was announced some time ago with a soundtrack and the Ducktales remaster had a physical release. It does depend on who backs these things ultimately...
It's more about the Retro side of it. Retro game collecting is a HUGE market at the moment and it's only considered to be on the console side of gaming. Retro collecting physical PC games is not huge at all. People want original copies of games they can trade and sell at market values and that...
There is no point in new Metal Gear games. Kojima is gone when his contract is over with in December and Konami has made it clear. All they want to do is Pachinko machines and mobile games.
So because you did not like it should not be considered cannon? I gave you a very reasonable explanation. Considering the official time line still cites the original MG timelines as cannon to the MGS lore. The only games not considered to be cannon by fans are Ghost Babel and Portable Ops.
Both were fighting over software licensing and each company wanted more for their own investment to retain rights. No realistic deal was going to be reach under Sony or Nintendo. It was going to be a cluster fuck no matter who agreed to what terms. Sony fanboys say it was Nintendo being scumbags...
Nintendo and Sony were both assholes in this mess. Why are you trying to spin this into Sony being this monstrous villain here. This is a significant part of history and reminder of what could have been a very different story.
