I heart this thread, madly. I'd love for a PC based Pokemon RPG that isn't an amature java production. Oh and I hate the layouts of the towns on Pokemon. 4 or 6 buildings spread out and surrounded by a hedge perimeter to stop you going where you shouldn't? Ugh, Irritates me like hell...

Jade Empire. Provided you mean customizable stats, not appearance. Although for the PC version there are hacks to change your appearance to various NPCs.

HAH. YES. I've been playing it 3 days straight >: I find Baldur's Gate II's replay value VERY addictive. And on a more embarrassing note.. Habbo Hotel is quite addictive. sighs.
