I agree that the game isn't perfect, but I don't see how the control scheme is archaic. The control scheme is very functional and is the only way that I can conceive the games various elements working together at all.
I was disappointed early on because when I heard "Civilization Facebook game," I expected a game more like the main civ series. What it is is more along the lines of every other facebook game.

Well, It was originally an element zero mine. Element Zero is still in all of those asteroids ... I guess. I could be wrong about it still being there, but if its there that would make it a pretty all right place to control.
