    Blizzard Cleans Up GAME's Mess

Huh. I'm not really a fan of Blizzard games, but they certainly seem like a class act. Kudos to them, it's nice to see a big company taking customer service so seriously.

    Pick Your Path: Mass Effect

Wow, I can honestly say I'm really impressed. So glad I gave this a chance, it managed to strike that consistently-comedic-yet-occasionally-touching tone that I so enjoy. The affectionate digs at the games, Tali's photo in particular, were hilarious as well. Plus, there's just something about...

Alpha Protocol: Is it worth getting?

I say yes, because I've never seen a game where your decisions had such tangible, logical consequences. Otherwise though, it has little to recommend it. It's competent as a stealth game, but not much else. I was entertained enough to be glad of the purchase, others who are less forgiving of...

Have you not bought a game after watching Yahtzee's review of it?

Only once. When I was on the fence over whether or not to get Metroid: Other M, his review was the final nail in the coffin for that particular purchase. Doesn't seem like I missed much.

Characters you like that you really, really shouldn't.

Aerie from Baldur's Gate 2, since I've been playing that recently. She's whiny as hell and half of her dialog is just angsting about her lost wings or something. Yet I found her endearing anyway.

Psychologists Claim Games Alter Personal Reality

I'm pretty sure every gamer knows this... just today I caught myself planning where in my house I could place portals to speed up my morning routine.

Why does enjoying mindless fun make me immature and/or stupid? (Rant alert)

You're pretty much right, there's nothing wrong with enjoying mindless games now and then, or all the time. It's totally personal preference, and it is silly to expect much more from GTA. That said, GTA 4 did try to be a bit more serious, or "deep." While the end result is arguable, I guess you...

Games that have aged incredibly well.

This has been said, but I'd say Planescape: Torment, as its focus on plot, characterization, and writing transcend technology. This is why I would argue that its Infinity Engine contemporaries have not held up so well, including Baldur's Gate.

Poll: Perpetual Motion. Will we obtain this technology in this century?

"In this house we obey the laws of THERMODYNAMICS!" Anybody? Anyway, I'm inclined to say no, as my limited understanding of physics suggests that it is impossible based on what we know. That has been said in the past, but I find it unlikely that we'll prove otherwise in the foreseeable future.

What's a good way to lose weight?

There's honestly no quick fix. Your options are limited to eating healthier - portion control is important here, most people eat portions of food that are just too big - and exercising more. It is likely going to be unpleasant, and there's no way around that because you're basically trying to...

    Bioware and linearity.

Linearity is generally better for the purposes of telling to a good, coherent story. Bioware does a pretty good job of it too; Mass Effect 2 didn't really feel any smaller to me, although frankly, I was willing to forgive anything once it established that there was no more Mako. I recently...

Poll: Do you prefer gaming on your console or pc

It depends on the game, as the mouse and keyboard is nice for FPS's, but for the most part I'd honestly prefer the console. I like the more accessible buttons and the fact that I don't have to worry about whether I can run such and such a game, and how well.

    Talking to yourself while gaming.

Heh, I've actually cursed out the developers of a game during a frustrating section of an otherwise fun game. Mass Effect Mako areas come to mind. Always quietly though, cause if anyone heard they'd think I'm off my rocker...

Who else cried at the end of Toy Story 3

I did as an 18 year old male, and it was weird. I've never even been close, and I always just figured I was a tad too cynical or jaded for a movie to affect me that much. Guess I was wrong.

the most impractical weapon you have ever incountered in a videogame

Impractical? The Experimental MIRV in Fallout 3. Awesome? Yes. But there's no area in the game where it is actually useful; frankly, you'd be lucky to even survive firing it.
