Half Life 2 disappointed me. I really liked the first, even the episodes. Spent the time to finish the game but it didn't feel like it was worth it.

I can understand the character being quite, so then you get to know what they sound like at least. But mute characters can work, if for games that let you build the character. As for set characters it's not so great, makes them seem ignorant of the situation.

If you want good single player games. Don't go for a PS3 or 360. They focus to much on multiplayer games now. Buy a cheap PS2 there are some great games for it. I won't ignore the fact that most of these are JRPGs. Unless you want to play online.

Modded controllers just show a lack of skill, it sucks for those that want to play for fun!

I prefer to use a controller, I find it 'feels' better for play. But that's because I used to have a Joy stick for pc gaming before I got a console. But in terms of performance. I do better with a mouse and keyboard.

OK agree with you there, valve are good when it comes to community.

To me it seems that Valve are frightened to release any downloadable content that will cost the user, if it is on steam (Sorry for those that have L4D on 360). Maybe they should consider making larger downloadable content that is worth a price, rather than a few small things that can be made...
