Erm really, learning a language through games?
Why don't you just play the game you like the most and turn the sound off and have a dvd playing with the relevant lessons from linguaphone or some other type of learning system in the background.
Three's the magic number for me. Keeps the competition there and choice for us gamers.

I asked my friend who is German he said he and most Germans don't mind killing Nazi's and quoted castle wolfenstein as a very popular game in Germany. They just don't like it if they themselves are called Nazi (obviously).
Yep Medieval total war 2 is certainly up at the top of the list.
If we include MMO's im going with AoC as the crafting systems, ah, bank, quests etc all had bugs on release.
