A question for non British people

No, I feel that Hitler was detestable for starting that war. You're right, of course. But I cannot help but feel that the person sending the allies to their deaths is a horrible, horrible guy whom I happen to owe a lot to. Sometimes people have to make mistakes.

A question for non British people

I heard of her first from the movie "Billy Elliot". But no, I'm probably not old enough to know her well enough to have an opinion. Anyone who sends their people out to war though, is a horrible person by definition.

"Damn, I wish I could play a good version of this"

You're right, of course. I haven't seen the competitive play, and there have been changes to the formula here and there. But I think a complete overhaul of the gameplay in the same setting could be fun, because there's still a lot of untapped potential. And yes, the Mystery Dungeon and Ranger...

"Damn, I wish I could play a good version of this"

Pokemon, I think. The games were good when they were new, but taking a formula with so much potential and making exactly zero changes to it is a terrible waste. I'd be all over a Pokemon game where you could create teams of Pokemon that complement each other, or if they made it a turn-based...

Escapist News Network: Inside the Newsroom

Between ENN going biweekly and this episode, it just hit me that that might be the reason. But, trying new things is always appreciated. By the way, now that I had your attention, I might as well add: since I started making comedy videos, you guys have been my number one heroes.

Escapist News Network: Inside the Newsroom

That was fun, but I wouldn't like this kind of thing to become the new ENN. Instead, why not continue ENN and also bring the Phailhaüs back? (Is it just me, or are the crew getting bored with ENN?)

    "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" Moments in gaming

Once in Painkiller, in a room that consisted of a big open space with counters on all the sides, I was racing across the room, take a big leap over one of the counters, see an enemy running into exactly the place where I'm going to land, and purely in reflex I blast his head off in mid-air. I...

    Poll: Which final fantasy?

Nothing before 7? SERIOUSLY? FF6 was way better than 7, 5 is my personal favorite, 4 made the series into what it is today, and 1 was one of the greatest reversals of fortune for a company, ever. And all of these are available for purchase in the US. So really? There's numbers before 7, you know.

Poll: Would You Have Sex With A Vampire?

Umm, NO, has no-one read Dracula? Sex with a vampire usually involves having all your blood sucked out of your body, being shoved headfirst into open wounds, and dying. AND HE WILL COME BACK FOR MORE.

    Would you hit a girl?

I have the same objections to hitting girls as I do to hitting guys. But aggressive self-defense is just not my style; if somebody attacks me, I will try to restrain them before resorting to violence.

Is anyone replaying any old games?

Amsterdoom, an obscure game by Dutch developers, set completely in Amsterdam. To be honest, the game is pretty bad, but it has just enough nostalgia factor for me to like it again.

    Poll: Gentlemen, name your poison:

No option for non-alcoholic beverages, somehow? For parties, I like pure lemonade. It packs as much of a punch as alcohol, and I like it more.

    On Time Travel

Have you forgotten those little sidequests wherein you had to leave Robo at a desert for a century so he could do some farmwork, which would put a little Robo on the map every time you visited the intervening time periods? Or the one where you had to leave a thing in a cave but it got stolen so...

    Zero Punctuation: Singularity

You've probably already heard this, but in his Soul Calibur review he said that he doesn't "get" fighting games. So yeah, that's the reason right there.

Stealth in games that aren't exclusively stealth games.

I liked the option of carefully picking out the soldiers in a base in Prototype. What I liked even more was that if you got bored with it, you could switch to the blade and decimate everyone. The stealth wasn't that interesting, but the option was there, and that was very nice.
