    Revenge of the Litigated

I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned in the article, but a few states have anti-SLAPP laws now. Although this isn't directly related to a "loser-pays" system, it is still relevant. SLAPP is a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation -- usually when an a large, powerful party tries to use...

What's the last game you played in 2009?

    Hard-To-Find games you have

Yakuza 2. The game got a very limited print run, almost no marketing, and no English V/O, but I was lucky enough to grab it when I had the chance. Even eBay isn't turning up too many copies of the sequel, only the original. In a world where GTA is popular, Yakuza should be bigger.

Poll: What's Your Favorite Metal Gear Game?

Metal Gear Solid 2, because I like movies, books, music, TV shows, and even games that make me say "WHAT THE F&*#" when I'm finished with them. At one point, it felt like the game was playing me, to the degree that when I hit the "Fission Mailed" screen, I threw my controller in frustration.

    Zero Punctuation: Awards for 2008

Finally, someone called out GTA4. I kind of wish there was a comparison between the PC version of GTA4 and STALKER: Clear Sky for the buggiest game of the year, but I think GTA4 would win that ward for, you know, not working at all. I would have given GOTY (out of all his reviews) to...

Games you should enjoy but don't

Mass Effect. There's so much text to read, and so little going on, that it just fails to capture me. The story is slow and piddling (I feel like I've done nothing after 6 hours). This might be the first game I run out of "activations" on, because every time I install it lately I get another...

Help on connecting my 360 to my PC monitor

CapnGod is correct, the 360 has a special VGA cable for more basic monitors. As far as I know, none of the current-gen consoles have DVI output options, and the PS3 and 360 both have HDMI output. However, if you have a higher-end monitor, you may be in luck. Most of these have video inputs...

What games do you always leave installed?

I <3 DOSbox. If you're on an Intel Mac, also check out Boxer (http://boxerapp.com/), which takes DOSbox as its base and adds some nice OS X-y stuff on top of it. That has a nice feature where you can create game packages out of folders and tag them with the game's cover art. Because of...

Games which could have been brilliant on another platform.

The Wii hasn't been the bastion of FPS's that everyone had hoped when the motion controller was first announced. Since devs can't rely on the Wii Motion Plus for actual aiming, and the fact that human hands can't remain totally still, make most FPS's on the Wii awful. -bladerunner-, Crytek...

Games which could have been brilliant on another platform.

The same way that The Sims and such work. Users can create additional content, but EA/Maxis continue to create additional content packs with a "hook" that usual user content doesn't have and will charge more for it. If there's ever an honest-to-goodness port of the The Sims 3 to the PS3, I...

Old PC games you still play.

I play far too many DOS games, especially now that I'm on a Mac and all. A quick run-through of my games list includes Alien Breed, Duke Nukem 3D, Fallout, Raptor - Call of the Shadows, Jagged Alliance, SimCity 2000, Syndicate, and the two original X-COM games (UFO Defense and Terror From the...
