World of Warcraft - Just retcon most of it and give me WC4. ANY game with more then 3 sequels. 1-2 sequels is not that bad, 3 is pushing it, anything after is just overkill... TV shows after 10 seasons. You have run your course, let someone else try to do well with your slot.

Going to go with a game I almost never see mentioned and say Armored Core 4. Everything in it was great.... except the story. Weak, hard to follow and once you do start to follow it, you see just how generic it actualy is.

Based on what you said, I would say that Eureka 7 would be your best bet. -Kind of light hearted. (Gets serious when it needs to.) -Great mecha action.(Mechs on flying surfboards, what is there to hate in that?) -Great story/characters. -Not very off-setting.

When it reaches the point where the story the creators wanted to tell is done and to move on they have to make too many changes. The best example I can think of is Stargate SG1. Great show, but anything after season 8 was just tacked on and had next to nothing to do with the orginal story...
