That realy sounds like dragon quest 3, at the start of the game you get to answer questions and then a quick event to test your personality (and the dragon running around sounds a lot like what one of those events would be). IF you want to play Dragon quest 3 play the SNES version.

Chrono Trigger probably has one of the best overall OST. the Blaze Blue games also have realy good OSTs.
