That realy sounds like dragon quest 3, at the start of the game you get to answer questions and then a quick event to test your personality (and the dragon running around sounds a lot like what one of those events would be).
IF you want to play Dragon quest 3 play the SNES version.
well wtf I played their stupid mario ripoff for 2mins and you also get an animal suit in the same way mario does (AKA not from an animal). That makes their whole argument hyprocite.
Thief 3 deadly shadows just take a game file to the shalebridge cradle with minimum suplies and play through it on halloween. The whole game isn't scary but the cradle has got to be the sacriest thing I've seen in video games so far.

I played fallout 2 for the first time after playing fallout 3 and I had a lot more fun with it.
I played baldurs gate 2 for the first time after playing dragon age and I though it had a lot more depth to it.
IMO final fantasy games got worse with every sequel.

The original one on the NES because it was the only challenging one that had me explore semi-complex dungeons with death looming over my party at every step, that made me decide between better armors/weapons or new spells or even supplies to get me through the next area because money was hard to...
