Although you didn't enter latitude and longitude, you had to enter angle and velocity, and there could be wind that you had to account for (and of course gravity).

Your description reminded me of Desert Strike or Urban Strike but almost didn't post as those were for Genesis/SNES and didn't have any other playable vehicles besides helo, and I never heard of any other ones in the series...but a quick search reveals the last game in the series was published...
