Sony takes less then a week to inform customers of a potential credit card breach. Valve takes 4 months. Yet Sony are the monsters because they took too long, and Valve is innocent. I love internet logic.
And what part of those uses requires being able to connect to PSN and use recent games, etc? What's stopping them from continuing to use the old PS3s on old firmware without updating? Because as far as I know, nothing is. If they really do only want the PS3s as a renderfarm then why do they need...
And Sony is COMPLETELY within their right to refuse PSN service to whoever they wish.
They gave you the option of refusing to update your firmware to continue getting access to their proprietary service or opting not to update to continue using OtherOS.
The hackers just conveniently prefer...
To sum up all the posts supporting graf_chokolo:
"We're butthurt that the legal system doesn't like our rampant efforts to pirate everything and we think they're corrupt for putting a stop to it"
Breaking anti-piracy measures is supporting piracy you idiots. It doesn't matter whether or...
Am I the only one that is fucking terrified by the realization that people are suggesting that someone should give in to terrorist demands if they're attacked enough?
I was chatting with a friend and telling him about how I was providing my input on this whole ugly thing, and he said to be...
I gotta admit the amount of people that are willing to believe the hackers are telling the truth about SQL injection really tells me something about their mindset. Seems to me they WANT it to be true, so much so that they actually believe unconditionally a statement by terrorist criminals.
Oh...
This is actually a good theory.
However, at least one news site did apparently follow up on one set of info from the stolen database and called the person who it was associated with, turned out to be genuine.
Granted that's one out of a million, but still.
Isn't that potentially a good thing?
Money leaves a trail after all. Which means it could be an avenue of attack to find these bastards for law enforcement.
If they think they'll get OtherOS back by resorting to terrorism then that's just hilarious.
And if it was so simple to breach Sony why'd it take them THREE DAYS.
Skygunner 2.
First game was a pretty unique arcade style flight combat game that could best be described as being in the style of chibi steampunk.
The ending left it rather clearly open to a sequel, and I think it would be absolutely amazing with next gen tech. Maybe moving it ahead to...
It's been over a day after the hack was supposed to take place, nothing happened.
Something tells me they were either just talking big or tried and ran up against a wall with Sony's defenses.
They are threatening and attacking anyone who doesn't agree with their anti-captalism anti-personal rights way of life. They use threats to accomplish their goals, such as by threatening to attack or release personal information.
If that's not terrorism I don't know what is.
And regarding...
And that is precisely why I will NEVER buy a Microsoft Console. Too expensive compared to PS3 and doesn't offer enough.
One time payment is always cheaper in the long run then a lifetime of subscription fees.
I paid 600$ on my launch PS3, and have used the online feature on it all this...
This PSN downtime has mostly been a great excuse to jump into my backlog of PS2 games anyway. No internet required for anything, no trophies, no multiplayer, just good wholesome fun.
