I don't think it's really relevant whether or not the game supports it at launch, it was promised in the Kickstarter reward so it should be delivered regardless. Their website should at least default to the "give me what I paid for" option instead of defaulting to the store credit for their site.

If you're using a server browser and find a game that's laggy/full of a-holes, you can choose a different one. If you're hitting "find game" and it decides to keep putting you back in the same laggy a-holey game you just have to deal with it. There are several other advantages, but that's a big one.
All of the indie games (including Killing Floor) that were in the potato sack pack a few months ago opened a web browser when certain conditions were met in-game. Or you can just open the interface yourself and do it.
