I've never watched the anime, but from what I've read about it, it ends way before the manga does. I have read the manga, and can assure you it is awesome. Read it ASAP. Elfen Lied, by the way. Not Clannad, though that is pretty high up on things I should see/read.

Prototype will release their new album, and it will be awesome. Linkin Park will release their new album, and it will be fun to laugh at. And speaking of 80's music, Scorpions will release their final album, and it'll be pretty good. Expecting anything more is just begging for disappointment.
