    If I had to come up with two right off the top of my head, I'd say Bioshock and Braid both have a pretty decent grasp of how to make storytelling interesting. Oh, and Bastion. So... apparently games that start with B.

    A side character who was better than the hero

    Anyone other than Scott Pilgrim in either the movie or comic of the same name. That story practically survives on the support characters.
