The reason glass isnt used as supports is because it cracks under low loads (non toughened glass) due to the low fracture toughness properties (go mechanical engineering!) oh yeah and giraffes can clean their ears with their tongues and have the same amount of vertebrae in their necks as humans

If you play through all of the Onimusha series, it gets fairly complex, but in a fictional samurai series kind of way (you have to actually pay attention to the scrolls to get the full story)
