If you want a really slow-paced but fun game, try Sins of a Solar Empire. It's a lot like a slower-paced WCIII in SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE.

The one thing that comes to mind is KotOR. I remember having a lot of trouble with Calo Nord for some reason, so eventually I just set about 50 stacked mines in front of him and ran like hell. He died a horrible death. It was funny.

I loved my vanguard character, but I've only played vanguard and soldier, so I can't say much. Just one word of advice: don't do what I did and think that toxic/polonium rounds are uber because they give you a massive damage bonus. They don't, and they aren't.

For me, I guess it would be Half-Life 2. My parents got me the orange box, mostly for portal, and I ended up playing and loving all of the other games. Up until then my parents hadn't let me play M games.
