Never mind. Told a friend and he remembered playing it too. Its Big Pixel Zombies. I googled the name and found some screenshots. Definitely the game i was thinking of. Just gonna leave this here in case anyone else comes scrolling through looking for the same game.

Been trying to find this game for years. It was mostly a generic and cliche zombie game. Player is stuck in a small area in a city (it was like 2 city blocks maybe smaller) surrounded by buildings. Had to fight wave after wave of incoming zombies. There was a store for buying weapons, upgrades...
