Yeah, Elves don't need to be some sparkly, busty, half nude women with elf ears. There is no correct way to design a elf, it's up to the designers. Personally I love the look of the 'not-so mainstream' elves in Skyrim. There are many types of elves throughout all types of folk lore

I watched the movie here in Norway when it came out and really liked it, so I'm glad that MovieBob gives it some love. Should really check the film out if you get the chance!
