That's why I love "missable items/quests" faqs. But the very fact that sometimes a guide is the only way [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GuideDangIt] to know about these things is a problem in itself.
It varies a lot depending on the game. If it entices me enough, I'll rarely use a walkthrough, on the other hand, sometimes I just wanna get done with a game that wasn't as good as I expected and go play something else, but rather than abandoning it midway, I'd rather use a WT to speed things...
My thoughts exactly.
As long as you have harder difficulty settings available, finding that a game gets too easy in multiplayer should be no problem at all.
I couldn't agree more.
Another CRPG mechanic that really pisses me off these days is the tendency for very "original" but convoluted levelling up methods, especially those that make it very easy to permanently hamstring a character if you don't evolve him the "right" way.
Alundra 2 killed Alundra before it even had the chance to become a series.
Apparently, Jade Cocoon 2 did the same, turning a pretty original RPG into a digimon tamers wannabe. But I couldn't say for sure, I never managed to play more than 20 minutes of it.
