Anyone else feel like PC keeps getting sidelined?

Maybe its always been this way or maybe I'm just imagining things but lately its really started to feel like wherever I look in the media and advertising its all about "next gen" and undermining high-spec gaming or the PC market. Eg: Ubi developers embarrassing themselves over framerates trying...

"GET OVER HERE!" phrases that are engraved in your brain years later

That made me smile! Also I contribute the death-beep of a combine soldier from HL2. So satisfying.

"GET OVER HERE!" phrases that are engraved in your brain years later

It still surprises me years laters when talking with friends who can quote specific lines and quotes from old games that for one reason or another are embedded in your brain now. Usually through repetition. Eg: " "Flashbang through the door" or "Do a barrel roll" For nostalgia's sake, and...

So has any game made you feel "wow this is next gen stuff right here"

I bet they'd be awesome. I've tried Opposing Force and FEAR using the makeshift cardboard-Trinus frankenmess and that was really cool too, again for having depth perception. Alas VR isnt really practical on a Galaxy S3 and I value my retina's so I'll wait for something affordable with better...

Buy The Witcher 3 and Get 16 Pieces of Free DLC

More carrot and less stick sounds like a good practice. Still I wonder about the blurring definitions of what counts as DLC, Expansions and updates. These seem to sound like the small kind of thing Ubi would throw in to sweeten a pre-order or qualify as a "Special edition". Good point here...

Naked celebrities: a new social statement?

Good example. This is another example where celebrity nudity in particular is a powerful tool of influence. I'm just not sure why yet. Keep trying to steer the discussion back on topic, maybe they'll stop bickering.

Naked celebrities: a new social statement?

Well that escalated quickly. You can't equate Kaley Christine Cuoco willingly posting pictures she chose herself to rape and burglary for gods sake. Jesus so much bickering. However, this was a good point: It sounds to me like a lot of the raging here comes from people not considering the...

So has any game made you feel "wow this is next gen stuff right here"

I second that thought cdemares; The Nemesis system was genuinely refreshing and made every players game personal. Definitely a step in the right direction. I always prefer a game that prioritises fun-to-play over fun-to-look-at.

So has any game made you feel "wow this is next gen stuff right here"

For graphics: Probably laughable these days but I remember me and my mates being blown away by the first Gears of War on Xbox 360, thinking "wow those graphics". There was an awful lot of detail on the character models. Without being a snob about "next gen" console, there's nothing yet that I...

Do you/would you sleep in the nude?

I always thought it was normal to sleep naked (unless its particularly cold or you're not at home). Most of my family does it too and its not really a big deal. If its my house, why not? You fall asleep faster and wake up fresher (or colder)! I know some old fashioned chap who wears bedsocks...

Men: Now a Minority in PC Gaming.

That, I'd like to hear too. Then you'd also need a further breakdown of spending habits per group and platform. As a kid I remember waiting till Christmas or birthdays for a new game on ye olde Sega/PS1, whereas these days with Humble Bundle and Steam Sales my steam library has tipped over 200...

Men: Now a Minority in PC Gaming.

Excellent point RavingSturm, that set my mind at rest. back to OP: "50.2% of all PC gamers are women" Hypothetically assuming this wasn't a rubbish study; 50.2% doesnt make men a minority any more significantly than it makes women a majority. "Personally, I think it's a good sign that the PC...
