If you like Catch22 that much, I'd suggest Transmetropolition as a good graphic novel. It starts out as just pure unfocused rage, but once it gets going...so good.
Planescape: Torment because it's brilliant, followed by Bloodlines, which was the most atmospheric game I've ever played. Also, huge thanks to everyone who has or will post on this thread, I'm getting a great list of games to try after I finally beat Pathologic. :3
Chronotrigger. I'll take this back if the redeeming qualities kicked in after the trip to the post apocalyptic wasteland, but personally I could never get past that. Both the plot and characters seemed cliche, and there's no way I was sticking around just for the battle system or art design.
