They are except for two things, the included arcade ports don't work on 360 and for some weird reason if you haven't played it for a while the first loading screen will take about five minutes to load but after that the loading screens only take 5 seconds.

Just make more save slots and don't relay on auto-save. Auto-save has 5 slots but will not overwrite manual saves. Just be careful you don't overwrite the other character.

Please don't follow this "game developer"'s advice, if the problem was a distorted disk image it wouldn't show as an aspect ratio problem, a disk image problem would render the game completely unplayable.

No .EXE files cannot run on macOSX. Even with WINE which is designed to "emulate" windows only ~%50 of windows programs will run. You can install windows on a mac but then you are running windows.
