See, unlike Yahtzee, I wasn't raised up on adventure games as a kid, but grew up with the simple puzzle/combat "action adventure" games like mario 64. I never really played games where the story was enphasized and the the game was about interacting with characters as opposed to kicking ghosts...
Really? The final version is that close? There's only about 4 bosses and three total levels. It's certainly a fun game, but that sounds kinda short-lived based on what I have played so far.
I'm glad he mentioned the Updated enemy placements in Scholar of the First Sin, as apparently they changed because they were unhappy mostly with the original positions. People will claim it was Miyazaki that "fixed everything", but he supervised, oversaw, and approved the changes in both...
I've always been told during my high school years about how most "Game Design" universities were essentially huge scams. Now while it may not apply to all of them, it certainly makes me happy knowing what I am studying can apply to many different businesses. A lot of the gaming culture has made...
Nice read. Recommended. 7/10...
In all seriousness though, reviews of artistic things are always tricky since everyone will have different tastes. Like he said, numbers are easy to calculate function and things, but certain people may get more emotion out of a piece of artwork than others...
I've only played the first two ASSCreed games after hearing how "great" the series is. I don't think its a terrible series, but I didn't find the game as interesting as I first hoped. I also had plenty of problems with Uplay and a few crashes/in game bugs. So why, I keep wondering, if the next 4...
Thank goodness too, the warning message actually saved my computer. I got one of these phony messages recently and tried to close it, but my finger slipped and I ended up clicking on the link by accident. Steam managed to warn me about clicking on untrusted URLs before anything began downloading...
I understand everyone has different tastes, but I was personally extremely disappointed by Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, since the formula was changed so much that it became boring for me. I probably would have avoided buying it if I had known at the time that it was by the Chinese Room, makers...
I'm sure most of you people reading this have played plenty of different games in your lifetime, so I devised a fun little project for game-players of all ages:
Make a text document listing every game you have ever remembered playing in your lifetime. (as well as the machine it was played...
How interesting. I can't help but wonder what kind of work this man will be doing at Valve? Hopefully it is writing work on an actual game, because I highly enjoyed Saints Row and most of Valve's games. If not, its likely to write more comics.
Still wish Valve would announce some actual games...
Valve seems to have a very VERY high reputation compared to other large industry companies, so I imagine it would be a lot of pressure put on them. Seeing the stress put into releasing Half-Life 2 years ago, and Portal 2 years later, I can understand why they might not want to release the game...
