CD Projekt Talks About Cyberpunk's Language

I certainly hope that they're talking about subtitles! Making the cheapo translation should be easy -- google translate ftw.

    Jimquisition: Rape vs. Murder

-- I'm quoting because I agree. Two things need pointing out: 1: There are several ways a guy can have an erection without arousal being involved 2: Arousal does not equal consent!

The Big Picture: Tropes vs. MovieBob

Just to check. Are these the three arguments? 1: Portraying female video game character's bodies as unrealistically sexy is bad because women some times lose out on jobs because they don't look enough like Lara Croft. Also, nothing like this happens to men. 2: Portraying female video game...

    The Big Picture: Stone Soup

Honestly, I only watched the Flintstones because I'd watch any cartoon back when I was little. The jokes got old fast, and I was never very fond of the standard Hanna-Barbera techniques for limited animation. I don't know how many times I saw Fred's walking loop on top of that endless...

    241: World of Spycraft

Just thought of this game the other day, actually :) Definitely a nice little overlooked gem. Of course, a lot of my enthusiasm was due to the fact that it was the late nineties and OMG VIDEO ON MY COMPUTER! Here's the intro, it gives you an idea of the feel of the game...

Could you present an encyclopedia in a game-like way, in order to promote and encourage learning?

A friend mentioned the old Encarta CDs, which supposedly did something similar. Of course Encarta was a huge success... :l

Could you present an encyclopedia in a game-like way, in order to promote and encourage learning?

I don't mean in the classic "let's make learning fun"-way. I'm thinking more about introducing things like: * A clear pathway through the information, with a realistic difficulty curve * An explicit level or rank system, maybe based on what you've read and proved yourself to have...

Extra Punctuation: Let's Talk About Let's Play

There are two let's plays that are actually good fun. Here they are: Two dudes with an infectious enthusiasm for explosives play a game with lots of explosions. Creative, edited and just generally well crafted: http://v.lp.prinny.co.uk/mercenaries-2 Just good writing, and a neat premise...

    Zero Punctuation: Fallout: New Vegas

I'm actually enjoying New Vegas a fair bit more than I did Fallout 3 -- and I think that's mostly because it doesn't crash as much and because I'm playing an asshole with a hammer. It really does cut down on the time spent in "conversation" Also, it seems more varied.

Computer graphics: are art directors becoming ballsier?

It's better to succeed at something cool than to fail at photo realism, and failing at photo realism does seem to be the option that most games have picked since whatever the first textured 3D game was. Even though you have games like interstate '76, viewtiful Joe and Team Fortress 2 that have...

    Webcomics! Totally not a knock-off!

Saevus, for no particular reason I think you'll like this one: http://www.picturesforsadchildren.com/ RentCavalier, how does this work, is this thread for your reviews only or do I get to post my own? I second the endorsement of Templar, Arizona, by the way - although it's been a while...
