A war game where you can play every side of the conflict and there's a realistic (high) amount of civilian casualties. Either a shooter or shooter/rpg like fallout. Any conflict would be good, WW2 would be most epic and also controversial. Even more bonus points if you go home after the war...

It depends on the game. I played most of the call of duty campaigns. Bad Company 2 kept me interested but Battlefield 3 bored me to tears so I didn't check out single player much. I bought Spec Ops the line FOR the single player. In black ops 2 I couldn't beat a forced "spider" Section :(...
