You can retire at anytime, it's all about having the cash to do so. Nothing wrong with getting a head start aquiring the cash at 21. You will be way ahead of everyone else. Just don't forget to smell the roses along the way!

It's all about balance. Knowing when to step in and when to give space. Good parents who set the ground rules early usually have well adjusted kids who are able to make good decisions. Parents need to be there without hovering.
