There all ready is a market of games where fun and originality are the main I guess you could call them selling points, and that's "free" online games. Look at any free online game site like armorgames or kongregate or newgrounds where games are rated almost every second pretty much on this...

My favorite would have to be from Elite Beat agents on the DS where each song has a custom game over screen.
