All of the above plus Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy "Red Mars, Green Mars and Blue Mars" If you can get past the first couple of chapters with one of the main Russian characters sleeping with EVERYONE then its great stuff. You'd be surprised what happens when you nuke a space elevator!

I can relate to this too. At one point I was playing a lot of left 4 dead late into the night. I was working in a school for autistic children at the time and our classroom was adjacent to the yard. I was sitting in the class at lunch time doing some paperwork with one of the other teachers...

The capybara with the peg leg was a great touch. Definitely drew a chuckle :)
