Would you stab a cat to get your hands on an early copy of Mass Effect 3?

No, because I'm not an arsehole. I would suggest that if an early copy of a game is important enough to go wielding cutlery at animals, it might be time to assess your priorities.

    Games you thought you'd like

Black and White. It was supposed to be god game, RPG, RTS and civ game all rolled into one. It was actually a 50 foot cow/monkey avatar flinging its turds at villagers. No matter what you did. See also: Anything Peter Molyneux has done since then, especially the first Fable.

What game have you racked up over 100 hours?

All of the Total War games except Napoleon, which I just didn't get into. Dragons Age Origins, but that's easy, as 100 hours is just over two full playthroughs, if you're wandering around and doing all the little bits and bobs. I just enjoyed spending time in the world. Steam tells me I have...

    Poll: Nateropathic Doctors?

Aww, you guys and yer fancy book learnin'! As for the naturopathy, I'd be worried if that's all the medical treatment that the OP's sister is receiving. Homeopathy has received far more clinical testing than the advocates might have you believe, and has never been shown to have any more...

Games that took you five minutes to realise you hated.

Lost Odyssey. I stuck with it for a while, because I'm not giving up on something after 5 minutes. But good lord, that game does nothing to make you like it. The protagonist is a tosser, the combat system is awful, it barely explains half of what it is trying to do (the "combat ring" drivel is...

Mother Finds Kidnapped Children On Facebook

I agree, but that's a whole lot of assumptions to make before you get to "she should have just left them there", which is what the comment I replied to seemed to be saying.

Mother Finds Kidnapped Children On Facebook

What? It's the fault of the woman who lost her children, not of the father that kidnapped them? What should she have done, washed her hands of them? That's like blaming the cop that arrested you for ruining your life, not yourself for committing the crime.

Things that games SHOULD NOT do...

Escort quests/missions where the person you must escort is so feeble they would die on a Saturday morning stroll round Tescos. By the end of those, I hate the character and want them to die.

Things that games SHOULD NOT do...

    1) Forced failure is evil. Taking all my stuff away and forcing me to play in a different way is ok if it's a quick interlude, but that's all it should be. Similarly, if a character leaves my party in an RPG, I want my gear back before he/she buggers off in a huff. 2) Don't refuse to let me...

Am I the only one who LOVES Alpha Protocol?

It's a good game, it is just severely hampered by being half finished. There isn't a total "game breaking" bug in there, but there are some baffling design decisions and poor quality control. My biggest bugbear, and the game's biggest strength, is the dialogue system. It's got good writing...

Where do you want the next Fallout game to be set?

Would it be cheap to say "Anywhere Obsidian can't get hold of it?" If so, then London. That would make a great ruined city, with plenty of decent landmarks, an underground system and variety. If we're restricting ourselves to the US, then I'd like to see New York, as others have said.
