Poll: Would you kill for your for your country?

I'd fight to defend it. I'd join a Home Guard sort of thing if WWIII happened, but since mine is a small island nation on the bottom of the world without much strategic value, I doubt we'd be a priority target. Unless someone wanted to use us as a staging ground against Australia. Anyway, I'd...

    Things You Want in Minecraft

Well. I think a good thing to add would be user-created journals and books. You might be able to craft a magic bookcase, so that when you right click it you can put in, say, a bar of gold and pick a user-created book. You could then use bookshelves as chests that worked specifically for books...

The girl you like is going out with someone better

Bah. I've never had a girlfriend. So, what did I do? I just worked on myself. I've done well with what I chose to pursue (that is, my academic studies, my french studies and my acting) and through doing well and being complimented for my work I have increased my opinion of myself. I now have a...

    Poll: Recommendation regarding H.P. Lovecraft.

I'm considering getting the complete works of H.P. Lovecraft. The only problem is that I've not read a horror novel ever, nor have I watched many modern horror movies or played many horror games (except Metro 2033, which I enjoyed.) Now, you're probably asking yourselves why I'd want to buy...

    Post some useless trivia.

I thought the brain couldn't make new cells? And...my trivia. Uh. New Zealand is an awesome place to live. :D

    New Zealand Earthquake

I'm up in Auckland, and I don't know anyone in Christchurch, but I'd gladly go down there and help if I could. 65 people dead. Expected to rise. That's quite a bit down here in NZ. Not to mention that the earthquake knocked the spire off of the Cathedral, which is a local landmark.

    Encountering anti-intellectualism

Yeah. I've been verbally attacked by a lot of the crystal healing types for preferring to take prescribed medication from a trained professional than choking on incense and being "healed by crystal energy". After all, the placebo effect (for that's all I believe it to be, at best) wouldn't work...

    Encountering anti-intellectualism

Well. There's certainly an anti-intellectual culture in certain areas of the world. I know that with all the shows that glamourise being a total airhead, I've ended up having about 5 people I can talk to without needing to explain every second word, two of which have English as a second...

What's the glitchiest mess of a game you've ever played?

Well. I got Fallout: New Vegas and not only would it periodically crash, whenever it did work all the sound would be messed up and play several seconds to a minute after it should. Fallout 3 also crashed a lot, as did Oblivion. In fact, Morrowind is the only Bethesda game I've played that...

    Games with a great story?

I'd have to third (or perhaps fourth or fifth, depending on how many people post before I finish typing) Bioware games. I've heard Deus Ex does too, but I have yet to get through it.

    Dungeons and Dragons.

So. I'm thinking of starting a Dungeons and Dragons group with my friends. However, none of us has any experience with DnD, or indeed tabletop RPing at all. So, my first question is: Which edition do you recommend? I've heard the 4th Edition is good for new players. My second question is...

Does anyone use 3D in minecraft?

I don't, but that's because I didn't know there was a 3D option. Oh wait, no it's not. I'm not going to use 3D now, either. In answer to your question, I don't and don't plan to.

Can any story actually be original now?

Well. Nothing will be completely original anymore, but making a good story nowadays comes down to mixing various parts of other stories to create something that is, in its own way, original. It's not a Black and White "Original and Stereotypical" system, it's simply the "Shades of Grey" system...

    Impressing people

I don't really do really out of the way to impress people. I compliment girls I'm interested in more than anyone else, though.

Germany Wants to See Your Papers for That Unicorn

Well. If you think about it, if the Germans call Unicorns "Einhorns" then they'd expect a direct translation to be "Onehorn". Not "Unicorn".
