I don't think that is it. The game was not made in 2000 it just have over 2000 games on two CDs. Thanks for trying though!

First game is a really old windows game. It came on a 2000 games pack for windows. It was 2D and you started with a spaceship and one planet. You could "mine" resources from other planets and then sell it to the planets you had colonized. You had three different types of "holds"...
