Editor's Note Escapist Magazine Volume 2: Issue 0

Been a member since ~2008. Loved the site for the games journalism. Left when all the content creators (LRR, Moviebob, Jim Sterling, etc.) left and the site mostly consisted of cosplay convention photos and hack writing. Hope things go well under the new ownership. Good to have Russ back.

Escapist Editors in the Midst of an Exodus?! -Updated-

I mostly let GG wash over me, and where I came down on the issue matters not. I bring it up only to say that it's baffling to me that people were so upset by it (not the verbal abuse, or the death threats - that should upset anyone who's a functional member of society, but the core debate for...

Escapist Editors in the Midst of an Exodus?! -Updated-

My question is: What's my PubClub Membership paying for? I've been a PubClub Member for five or six years, and visiting the site since 2008, and the Escapist has gone from reputable gaming e-zine, to click-bait and cosplay photos. How long until MovieBob, the LRR guys, Yahtzee and Sterling form...

The Best Of Cosplay At PAX East 2014 - Day 2

Pretty pathetic "reporting" guys. How could you possibly declare them the "best" if you don't even know who they are? Also, couldn't you just, y'know, ask the person you're taking the picture of?

    Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Review - Episode 2: 0-8-4

All of this. First episode was just OK, and this episode: poorly written script, poor acting, little-to-no chemistry between the actors, boring action scenes. Also, the character arcs are obvious already - it's like I can see the whole run of the show laid out in front of me. The "hostage"...

Bleszinski: Gears Became a Negative Stereotype

I'm playing through GeoW3 with a buddy right now, and I can't believe how bland it is. There's no real pacing, no real story. The only time you're not shooting things is when you're walking REAALLLLLY...... SLOWWWWWWLY through some uninteresting bit of scenery... and then you start shooting...

    The Big Picture: Not Okay

Uhhh, we won this thing not-so-casually referred to as a Landmark Supreme Court case where video games were guaranteed the same First Amendemnt rights as all other forms of expressive media. Did you miss that? It wasn't even a split decision - it was 7-2 in favor. http://ti.me/wDn1uK...

The Secret World Lead Designer Interview

Sooo, we just jump right into the interview now? No setup or introduction talking about the game's premise, or info on the developer? What if I didn't already know what this game is from reading PC Gamer? What the hell, Escapist?

I think I missed the point of Skyrim

I agree - it's very bizarre that every quest line for the guilds involves the end of the world as we know it, and you ARE ALWAYS THE CHOSEN ONE. The Thieves' Guild: Frey steals the Skeleton Key, and if he gets away with it, he'll be unstoppable (although, as far as I can tell, it just means...

PC gaming is dead to me now.

Here's a faulty analogy for you, but one that works at a superficial level Console gaming is like a Honda (for the record I drive a Civic Si). You get in, you turn the key, and you just go. And chances are good, 99 times out of 100, when you want to get in your car and go somewhere, the...

Extra Punctuation: What Is the Matter with You People?

Immortal chilluns running around after a dragon has murdered everyone else in a town doesn't make any sense. Also, how about the added incentive to be careful when blasting off spells or swinging an axe because you might just kill little Susie or Timmy? My point is there are elements of...
