Jimquisition: Watch_Dogs: A Vertical Slice Of Steaming Bullshots

And if the game ends up the best thing since sliced bread? Make your decision when you have actual information to look at, not before. You're preemptively making the reverse decision of preordering, and it's just as silly.

Jimquisition: Watch_Dogs: A Vertical Slice Of Steaming Bullshots

I'm not going to change my mind. They didn't really "lie," and unless somebody can prove that they knew they couldn't pull all of that off, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt (though I would always appreciate transparency on the issue). The graphics presented in the E3 demo looked...

Jimquisition: Watch_Dogs: A Vertical Slice Of Steaming Bullshots

Considering that the story trailer footage is on the actual PS4 hardware and the E3 reveal from *two years ago* was stated to be running on a very high-end PC before anybody even knew the specs of the new generation of consoles, I have literally no problem with any graphical "downgrade." You...

    Jimquisition: Free To Wait

Don't play the game. Fuck em. Support the games that you like and leave the rest.

    Jimquisition: Lugoscababib Discobiscuits

While I agree that her transition seemed quick, the essential point is that she realized that in order to achieve her goals, she would have to engage in violence.

What's the game that you hate that everyone else seems to love?

For me it's LA Noire. I hate-finished that game. I found the Cole to be insufferable, the writing sloppy and poorly toned, and the storyline just plain bad.

    Jimquisition: Previewed, Preordered, Prescrewed

The problem is that the proportion of game buyers that could be called "discerning customers" is a tiny, relatively insignificant section of the people that buy games. Some people only learn about upcoming games from advertisements and pre-order incentives from GameStop.

Minecraft Creator Won't Support Windows 8

People are worried that with the advent of a software store baked into the OS, Microsoft will lock out installation of 3rd party software that doesn't go through the store and/or have an exceptionally large fee for submitting content to the store along the lines of how they deal with games on...

Assassin's Creed III Hands On Preview

The mission design was much better in Revelations. It was more interesting, more varied, and didn't suffer from the horrendous frustrations in Brotherhood where you'd mess up ever so slightly, de-sync, and have to start all over again. The areas you explored were also more interesting, and...

Assassin's Creed III Hands On Preview

You do know that forests generally aren't as stable or dense as Medieval and Renaissance Era cities, right? And combat in all AC games has always been a total button mash fest? Everything I've seen and heard about this game points to it being significantly better than Revelations, and that...

    XCOM: Enemy Unknown demo discussion

I enjoyed the demo, but I agree that it didn't offer much in the way of what the actual game would be like. However, it did answer all of the questions I had about the transition of the game into modern game design language. The GUI was well developed and offered lots of information in a...

PC to console "dumbing down" AKA "Holy crap, what were they thinking?"

You say that like Human Revolution is a bad game?

What the Playtest of D&D Next Means for You

Ignoring the feats involved in character advancement is a mistake. They're there for a reason. Actually, I find the best kind of character progression is one in which there are no "classes" but instead a series of "feats" with prerequisites. The pushing and sliding mechanics in 4e were...

What the Playtest of D&D Next Means for You

I found fourth edition to be much more along the lines of "let's just make stuff up" in comparison to 3.5. In the previous edition, it was generally clear what real-world mechanic or interaction the designers were looking to represent in the game systems that we saw. Fourth edition lost a lot of...

What the Playtest of D&D Next Means for You

Nothing wrong with the spell, but you just were making it sound like the spell was "new and improved." No worries. @thedocic I can fully corroborate that. A bad DM can ruin everything. I once had a DM (3.5 ed) that liked to throw level 20 mages at us (a group of 12th level characters)...
