Hugo's House of Horrors? Sorry but that's not it :( I checked screenies/let's plays and this looks like a point+click adventure game. The one I played was a puzzle platform-ish type. Oh and now I recall, enemies were giant insects! Scorpions that shoot fireballs, spiders, giant ants.
