No of course not. Things could turn out much worse, and at this moment, I'm happy with the choices I've made. If I change them things may turn out differently, and that would just be a bummer.

I was playing Riviera: The Promised Land for like the 8th time, just working on the completion. For some reason I took the game out of my DS and put it in my pocket. Those pants went through the washer a couple hours later.
The game wasn't destroyed, thankfully. But all of my 100+ hour saves...
I do sometimes, it just depends on who/what I'm playing. I mean, if I think that character would be worshipping a god or deity of some sorts, then yeah, I try to play that way and make choices/act like a follower of that god would.
