Portal was the most fun for me (imo think it was just the right length), followed by Half Life 2 and then Team Fortress 2.

I'm getting it because I loved the first one, duh ;) And it really depends on what parts of the first one you didn't like, but I'd say wait for the reviews and initial reactions to come out, and then make your decision.
