    Hometown Pride

I'm from Niceville, FL. Yeah. You have no idea how many times people thought I was straight-up lying to them when I told them where I was from. It's the kind of town you pass though to get to other towns; we're nestled between an air force base (Eglin) and a semi-popular tourist town...

    Career Choice Worries

To be honest, I think the best way to respond to your problem is this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lkn8MS3n8Q I would also recommend that if you just want to feel better about your life or the world in general, I urge you to watch the many videos of the man in that link, John...

    What is your Badass Creed?

"Be Ashamed to Die Until You Have Won Some Victory for Humanity." -Horace Mann He was an education reformer in the early 1800's and did a great many things to change the US public educational system. The quote also became the motto for Anitoch College and ever since I learned about him it...

Poll: Are you desperate to be seen as smart on the interwebs?

If I do post anything, it's because I am trying to add something new to the conversation. That, or maybe point out an inaccuracy that is detrimental to a discussion. If I am trying desperately to be anything, it's considerate. Even if I vehemently disagree with you, I still want to show that...

recommend me some GBA games ?

Sigma Star Saga. Imagine a Zelda-ish game with random battles. Now imagine that the random battles are short side-scrolling shooter levels and the items you collect out of battle are upgrades to your ship. OH WAIT YOU DON'T HAVE TO IMAGINE IT. Seriously, its a great game.

Best deal you have ever found

About ten years ago I went into a pawn shop and found, sitting next to each other in the display case, A Link to the Past and Earthbound. I think they were 3 bucks each. I was pretty sure I could hear a heavenly choir in the distance as I bought them.

Poll: Should difficulty be regarded as part of the art?

I think it depends on the context, but the short answer is mostly yes. In a game like I Wanna Be the Guy, there's not really a tone that is established by the difficulty, it is difficult as an extension of old school game difficulty. It's taking that sort of game design and cranking it up to...

    Most Effective Video Game Villains?

As one of the very first villains to really make me hate them, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Pokey from Earthbound. I seriously wish I could just hate him until he died.

Different franchises in the same universe

I remember that one of the endings to Star Fox Command was where Fox and Falco buggered off and entered into the "G-Zero" racing league.

    What's your life's "that"?

Getting counseling and ADD Medication. I tend to label the Before part as "completely useless" and the After part as "contributing member to society."

What is with Final Fantasy Tactics?

If you want a tactics game that lets you undo mistakes and doesn't have a difficulty curve that asymptotically approaches bullshit, then I suggest getting Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. You don't even have to switch systems, as it also has a remake on the PSP. I suggest this because I...

    Daily Drop: Toy Computer

I have, but only in my dreams. Seriously, am I the only one who actually liked those things growing up? I had an amazing green Vtech whatever-is-was-called. Admittedly I played the games (ok, game) on it more than I went to the learning bits.

LoadingReadyRun: The LRR CD ROM Game

I genuinely felt bad that I couldn't do anything. Every time they got angry I wanted to say "I'm sorry! I wish I could help!" I say 'wanted to' because yelling at my monitor would only make me seem crazier. Oh, and great video, btw.

    Generally Accepted Gaming Facts

Er, I sorta meant in RPG dungeons, overworld maps, and most action games. Whenever I see a branching path, left will always either take me to A) the way I needed to go, or B) the treasure I was looking for. I can't remember a game I played where that didn't happen.
