Amen, agree entirely. BioWare just isn't a very interesting outfit any more. They make by-the-numbers games for a stereotypical California audience. The only company that really gets me excited these days (and the *only* one I pre-order from) is CDProjektRed (Witcher, Cyberpunk2077)...

I think the main issue is not the "dumbing down", but dumb it is. Maybe it is just the demo but the enemy seems even dumber than before (hard to believe) and the map design at the start was as linear as a rail shooter (which is pretty much the definition of dumb).
But as I said, maybe that...
I hated it. I played it on the PC and it was very 'consoley' to put it mildly, which matters less if you are not playing it on a PC of course, haha. But I would say "dumbed down" is an accurate description regardless.

Wow, we must have played different games... or have *extremely* different ideas of what we want out of a game. I think ME2 is quite literally the greatest game ever made.
