I have to say the only place in my neck of the woods is one of those Perfidium style stores. You walk in and are completely ignored. If you have the fortitude to ask questions of the shop keep, you either get ignored or are grudgingly acknowledged after a few minutes... I hate going there.
Thanks to Joe and the gentlemen (women?) at NMA for the responses!. I didn't think that the folks at NMA wanted a complete re-hash of the game but I wanted to be sure. As Brother None said it would be an exercise in futility, both the players and the market and industry are too different. I...
I'm surprised this forum hasn't erupted again into an argument over just what and how the new Fallout should be made. I had a number of questions for the people Joe Blancato interviewed. Hopefully they will be dropping by here or Joe can answer some of them?
I'd be curious how the...
Being an avid Lovecraft fan I wanted to contribute something to the discussion here... Eternal Darkness is a great game and one that does some amazing things with player interaction that it never gets credit for. While it doesn't have any direct ties to the mythos, it's steeped in Lovecraftian...
I don't think he is arguing that games are becoming more player-submissive, though I believe that assumption is correct. Rather what I thought the writer was trying to talk about was how the loss of exogenous material being put into games. When the only inspiration and input for creating a game...
I've never played the game, but after reading the article I looked up both the book and movie that Rossignol mentioned in the article. The part of the article that struck me was how the developers were using their own culture's mythology and not using America's sometimes overwhelming "culture"...
It's funny how often I hear this game come up when people talk about the 'best' or 'hall of fames', etc. I never recall seeing it on a store shelf or in any magazines. Did this game slip under the radar? You can still get the game from Ellison's website though. If you're intrigued pick it up?
A valid question might be why isn't Michael Zenke on the board defending his article? Why are Pitts and Archon, apologizing and making excuses for him? It was his article and his research. A simple apology on his part and a correction of the errors in the article is all that is necessary. Then...
I played for a about 30 minutes today. It looks interesting, but, and this is the problem with all MMOs, the other players didn't seem friendly. No one talked to me and any comments/questions I had were ignored. I'm sure the game can be fun. The fun though stems mostly from doing it as a group...
I never wanted to go to Oregon anyway. I only ever played it for the hunting mini-game. If and when I did play the entire game, my friends and I usually tried to see who could wipe out their party first...
If only there had been something like this while I was taking piano lessons. Around 8 years of my life wasted. I have nothing to show for it. I memorized every song assigned to me and knew it by ear. I can only tell you where middle C is on the piano and on sheet music... What a waste... Of...
I'm attempting to go through all the Final Fantasy's I haven't beaten yet. I'm currently near the end of Final Fantasy 4. The only problem with this is the ridiculous and painful amount of grinding that is required.
Despite this I'm looking forward to the 5th installment
Hasn't the 'state' of E3 been the elephant in the room for a long time anyway? For a supposedly professional show for media only, it certainly seemed to always be over run, by the most unprofessional of people...
Turning the show into what it is supposed to be really shouldn't stock people...
