Considering it's being proposed by the producers of Transformers (you know, the one that said "you probably won't like whatever we do with Transformers after Michael Bay 'cause it won't be all about Transformers..." {paraphrase}) I'm not too excited.
But hell I'll probably see it anyway...>.<
For me, its Insomniac, Sucker Punch (which seem to have a lot of love on this forum)
and I can't forget Clover Studios. Thank you, Clover Studios, for Okami, Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2, and Godhand. You are already missed...
...>.<...yeah I saw that. I suppose this is all a moot point, as I have yet to own a PS3 so whether or not this game is good is rather irrelevant really. Good thing I have the trilogy to keep me company ^_^
Okami: being able to see all the characters you've touched throughout the game coupled to amazing music = instant tear up.
Shadow of the Colossus: Seeing the full extent of the sacrifices made by Wander culminating in him "dying" is powerful stuff. And the tease of Ico at the end is...
I am trying very hard not to get too excited about this (cites the Crash and Spyro debacles mentioned earlier) But it looks somewhat promising, the whole trailer is basically the intro to Sly 1 (albiet with a twist) so if they're at least paying homage to that, hopefully they at least understand...
I agree with most of what's been said in this thread concerning the core of Pokemon games. But if I could design a Pokemon game, I think I'd revisit and perfect that oft forgotten gem, Pokemon Snap. Rail shooter/photography game + Pokemon + plenty of little secrets hidden here and there = pretty...
Fatal Frame 2: being a little japanese girl in a haunted village where your only ally is your sister who can't stay focused for five seconds before she runs off after shiny butterflies. Your only weapon is a camera where you are forced to watch ghosts hunt you down so they can get close enough...
For sheer badassness, I'd have to say Kratos, it's hard to fathom a man more badass than one who drags a hapless soldier kicking and screaming to his own demise just to open a door ^_^
Amen to that, though I wouldn't find that altogether scary as more of downright friggin disturbing...As for myself I'd say plenty of moments during Fatal Frame, such as the soothing hand from your loving sister comforting you on your shoulder...then you see your sister walk by on the other side...
Just read that...wow...
"Dear idiot." "Are all you gamers on drugs?"
Very professional...Hard to believe people take this guy seriously. Or worse, praise him : X
I recentley saw dear old Jack on GameHead TV, and it was interesting to see him laugh off the various death threats that have been sent to his Email. Though I myself wouldn't so much as bat an eye to hear he had been drawn and quartered in front of a hundred laughing gamers, I think the better...
Ace Combat 5: It made me care about who I was flying with, and put a purpose behind the hordes of jets I shot down. A lot more intricate than expected.
Okami: Japanese folklore and legends spun together so well that they create a seamless world, add in interesting and memorable characters...
Simply put? People fear what they do not understand. People demonized Elvis, they demonized rock and roll, and they demonized comics, yet all of these things are now not only accepted but cherished. I can see videogames going the same road, if in their own due time.
