Probably not, since we human rely on more than physical strength and endurance in order to survive. A person may be weak or sickly, but he may be incredibly intelligent, and could quite possibly survive simply because he could think quicker or could figure out exactly what he or she needed to do...

Of course. If you're trapped in a dark room with the enemy knocking at the front door, you're better off ending your own life, at the very least your enemy won't get the satisfaction, and at best sparing yourself from an even more gruesome death. Or perhaps you may need to sacrifice yourself...
