It was good. I don't know how I would put it numerically. About on par with the first Captain America movie I would say. I do think people are overlay generous because it's the first female lead superhero movie that wasn't ass. That however is a good problem to have.
What's intended is one thing, and it's a perfectly reasonable way to read it. However if you invoke the death of the author it doesn't really matter. I'm glad you can see it as a brilliant satire, but all I got out of it was a dumb action flick with some fascist undertones.
I think it's one of those death of the author things. If you read it as satire it's satire. If you don't it's fascist, or just a dumb action flick.
As for me? I'm not excited, but if it comes out on Netflix I'll watch it. Needless to say I'm not the biggest fan of the series.
