Rather late reply but this exact, almost literal thing happened to me in Dragons Dogma.
I did some quests for a random guy (who, if I'd actually read the quest texts, were the main character's childhood friend)
and nothing hinted at that he became a love interest, except for perhaps the text...
I dunno... Is saying "every single cliche" a bit too general?
Those I have too much trouble with must be "the undead hand bursting from the soil" and the overall idiocy of horror movie characters...
Curses! I was going to say that! While having a rather pleasant voice I suspect he'd just narrate my actions as though I was some piece of wildlife...
Patrick Steward seems like a good choice though.
Great. So I get a god-defying "lime-on"?
Well, perhaps it could fend off angels and stuff?
(The totally unreadable text under the lime-on says: "where's your god now" hence the god-defying)
No, haven't you played Red Alert?
I actually suspect something to that effect might happen if you where to travel back in time and kill Hitler.
And as some already pointed out earlier in this thread, I think we might lose an important experience by doing so.
I won't believe in ghosts or demons until I see them myself.
Although I'd LIKE to believe such things, as their existence would certainly make the world more interesting.
Can't really tell if it's good or bad yet untill I've tried it myself.
But it most certainly LOOKS good.
I think I've read somewhere that you'll have to escort the lady throughout the game, which I don't care much for. I hate escort-missions and mandatory companions in games. Although, she...
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind I suppose... I don't know EVERYTHING about it, but more than enough to get obscenely rich at level 1-2, acquiring most of the worthwhile weapons/armours... Thusly making the game rather uninteresting.
EDIT: Wow, did I get ninja'd by a couple of seconds?
