I'm pretty sure more 360s have spontaneously combusted than PS3s. Just last week I turned on my 360 and I saw smoke start coming out of it. The room smelled rather bad after words, and my 360 no longer works. My PS3 has been with me since launch, and it hasn't had any problems.
