    Who remembers their first computer?

Hah! Reader Rabbit! I had forgotten all about that. I remember having a few other Edutainment type games, Space Station Simulator and stuff like that. The Windows 95 version of Oregon Trail, that was good.

Netflix admits it throttles Verizon and AT&T customers

Understandably to the outrage of customers of these (and other) networks, Netflix has secretly been throttling bandwidth to customers of these particular mobile networks for years. Without making this clear to end users, this has caused certain, what Netflix call 'consumer friendly' networks...

    Poll: Oculus Rift pre-orders shipping...

Has anyone got one on order? I really want to try one out, but my PC barely meets the requirements; Before I want to even consider buying one, I want to see how it performs in the real world with real users, and on what hardware, etc. So if you do have one on order this is the...

Meet Tay, Microsoft's new artificial intelligence....

Well, people say 'yeah, internet', but the internet is only the sum of the people using it, so it's still pretty depressing really. But yeah, not entirely surprising. Kudos the programmer who forgot to program a bad language filter into a super-high profile Microsoft Garage project, though.

Meet Tay, Microsoft's new artificial intelligence....

Is it quite depressing that she managed to become such a disaster so quickly? Considering, like all bots of this nature, she learns from user input. So humanity taught her to be a Hitler-loving sex robot. *sigh*

End of Intel's "Tick / Tock" cycle...

I think this is Intel finally admitting that they're not able to make quite so big a stride in processor technology as they have been in the past from generation to generation. I guess this means Moore's law is dead, but one has to wonder if Intel can, or even really needs, to keep pushing...

Meet Tay, Microsoft's new artificial intelligence....

So Tay is a new AI that Microsoft has had in China for some time, but just got released for western audiences, and for some reason tries to mimic a teenage girl, aimed at the 18-24 year old user... ...Why? I'm not entirely sure. You can talk to her on Twitter, Kik and Groupme. Tay is an...

    Who remembers their first computer?

Heh, yeah, well the BBC Micro seemed to be supported quite some time, for educational purposes and the suchlike, I figure that they didn't find hardware obsolete quite so fast in those days. The use of the turbo button does make a lot of sense now, thanks for the explanation.

Poll: What do you prefer: AMD or NVIDIA?

You sound pretty unlucky there dude, on both sides of the coin. I've never managed to loose a single graphics card! I can certainly understand you feeling burned by that experience though. But I think the third party vendor who makes the card has a lot to do with quality and reliability, for...

    Who remembers their first computer?

Oh Boy, you know, I never owned one of those, but we DID have them in my primary school... ...Geordie Racer. If you know what that game is: enough said, lol. Oh wow, the Turbo button! I seem to remember having a button like that, but I never understood what it was for? I was...

What are you most excited for from the next generation of cards?

With NVIDIA likely to release their next generation Pascal-based cards this year, what kind of features would you be looking for to make you consider an upgrade in the next generation, Red or Green? Obviously smaller and more power efficient would be nice, so I can get a higher end card (960...

    Who remembers their first computer?

Always fun to have a trip down memory lane! WARNING: This thread will show your age... Anyway, my first PC I always will remember fondly, it was an Intel Pentium Processor (Ran at 133mhz if I recall!) with the very fancy sounding MMX Technology. It started life with 16mb of RAM, later...

Poll: What do you prefer: AMD or NVIDIA?

So, what team are you on, and why? I've almost always used NVIDIA cards, mainly because I prefer the drivers that the cards get, as well as some of the extra features the higher end cards get (such as G-SYNC and DSR) I think AMD's cards are pretty competitively priced in the high end...
