    FileFront Closing Down

It's a shame that such a successful company is closing down, but to be honest I stopped using FileFront a while ago. It timed out all the time.

    Die Franchise Die!

I was going to think up my own, but then I read this and realised that I couldn't agree more.

    COMBAT!

If you're into FPS, try CoD4 for ass-kickery, Team Fortress 2 for some fun, and CS for competitive play. I agree with Iron Mal about the RPGs like Oblivion and Fallout 3; the combat is generally clunky, and not the main reason you're playing the game.

Have you ever played a game that you respected but didn't enjoy? - CHAT WITH THE STAFF

Gears of War, Assassin's Creed and GTA4. I thought the premise behind GoW was dull, uninspired and overly derivative. I also found the combat too simplistic and unrewarding. I could respect the quality of the product, particularly its presentation, but I just couldn't enjoy it. I won't...

Poll: Gaming Animal Cruelty; serious issue?

There will always be a group of bleeding hearts who take offense at the most inane elements of any game, movie, song or what-have-you. I've found the best way to deal with them is to not dignify their idiotic concerns with discussion. Basically... ignore the hell out of them. Did these saps...

    2 Types of gamers?

It's more likely that the differing tastes of gamers everywhere would fall along a spectrum, and not be so easily categorically definable as 'eastern' or 'western'. As you said yourself, most people enjoy a mix of both what you've described as 'eastern' and 'western' influences, yet at the same...

Your favorite game- for the STORY?

I've always wanted to get my hands on some golden oldies like Planescape: Torment. A lot of older games seem to have really well-written, fleshy, compelling stories. I guess you couldn't rely on flashy graphics and a physics engine to move copies way back when, so the story and the immersion...

    no. 32546 pokémon too far?

Pokemon debuted when, 1995-96? I was seven back then. I truly cannot believe how healthy the franchise has remained since myself and just about every other kid at the time fell in love with it, back in primary school. Eventually we grew out of it, we finished primary school and moved onto high...
