I like them if they have a creative premise. I can play old school fps games all day. I am not a multiplayer person so a good campaign is necessary. Playing through real life military situations in first person is not what I got into them for. Put some aliens or monsters in them.

That part of Dead Space 2 where the big cartoon sun dropped down in front of me. That made me jump. no other part of the game seemed scare me. That sun still creeps me out.

When playing the original Disgaea, fighting Prinny Baal when he was at level 9999. I was able to steal his armor, surround him with 3 level 9999 characters, boost them, and do 10 million damage in only ONE TURN. Yeah.
