Bad Games In A Good Series?

Every Sonic game after Sonic Adventure, tarnishes the series once great name.

Games you've beaten so hard they needed dental records to identify the body?

Oblivion, KOTOR, Aria and Dawn of Sorrow, Symphony of the Night. Jedi Knight 2, Halo. Every Metroid game and all the old Sonic games. Currently working on beating the shit out of Mass Effect.

The most heartbreaking crash/glitch you've ever expierenced.

One really nasty one for me was when I spent about half an hour killing this fucking Final Guard in Dawn of Sorrow over and over again, I finally got its soul, only to walk out of the room and immediately die from a damn Werewolf. I didn't touch that game again for a LONG time.

    Why I don't like piracy: a software developer's thoughts.

For me, downloading it IS researching, unless you want me to shell out $50 on nothing but people's opinions? THAT is out of the realm of reason. If I don't like a game, I delete it without buying it, nothing gained or lost for either party. If I do like it, then I delete it and purchase...

    Why I don't like piracy: a software developer's thoughts.

I think you're making too many nasty generalizations about software pirates that simply aren't correct. Games are expensive. If I'm going to fork over $50+ for a game, I want to know I'm getting a good deal. Game demos these days are often ridiculously short, or nonexistent. Maybe if...

    Zero Punctuation: XBLA Double Bill

Yes, but he also made it clear that he thought older games were inferior to newer ones. I understand how childhood memories can distort your perceptions, I actually remembered Sonic Adventure 2 as a good game until I tried it again recently. That doesn't however mean that all games are...

    Zero Punctuation: XBLA Double Bill

I've disagreed with Yahtzee before, but I found this review to just be outright idiotic. Yahtzee, you claim to be all for the 'games are art' stance, so I have to wonder if you view art in the same way? Let's use Mona Lisa as an example. Lots of new and interesting artistic techniques have...

    "Gaymers" Speak Out On Homophobia

Being a bisexual gamer, I've been on the recieving end of some of this, but I've never found it to be that big of an issue. I guess it could be because I usually play in mature communities, but in general I just treat it like any other insult closed minded bigots make. Did you know the mute...

Poll: What type of gamer are YOU?

I think I'm mainly a IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR, CHAAAAAAARGE!!! type. My favorite kills are melee kills, I love dodging people's silly guns just long enough to smash their puny faces in with my melee weapon >:D

When was the last time you cried and/or teared up during a video game?

When I played Gradius: Galaxies as a preteen, I sort of teared up when I realised there was no way my little space ship was going to escape from the exploding station... I guess it seemed noble and heroic at the time. Also the endings of Halo 1 and Mass Effect, like some other people said...

    "Wow" moments in gaming

The ironic thing about it is that whole scene is actually very poorly written, we were all just so caught up in the shock of the plot twist we didn't notice it... The second time I played that game, I cringed at Carth's "NOOOOOO" scream :| For me, it would have to be when I finally got...

The 7th Generation: A Big "Meh"?

DS is incredibly awesome if you get the R4DS peripheral, which allows you to play music and movies, view pictures, and even play emulators (basically rendering the PSP completely pointless). That, combined with the few exceptional games out for the DS itself, make it well worth the money in my...
